Moderately toxic by ingestion. Mildly toxic by skin contact. An eye and severe skin irritant. Narcotic in high concentration. Reported as causing cataracts and kidney injury in experimental animals. Irritating to mucous membranes. Combustible when exposed to heat or flame; can react with oxidizing materials. Explosive in the form of vapor when exposed to heat or flame. To fight fire, use water, foam, CO2, dry chemical. Prolonged, close contact with air may cause an explosion. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes.
